What's the difference between Candy Cane dreads, blended dreads, spirals and transitional dreads?
These options are only available for hair products (falls and double ended dreads).
Candy cane dreads are where two colors are swirled together but kept distinct to create a candycane effect. (Think old time barber shop pole)
Blended dreads are composed of two or more colors that are hand mixed together to create a completely different hue or color. It is very hard to show examples of well blended dreads, as they become a new color basically.
Transitional dreads are where a dread starts out one color and fades into a different color.
Spirals are two or three colors twisted together smoothly to create an extra accent and textural element to the dreads. While they appear similar to candy canes, they are much skinnier and silkier then candy cane dreads. Both Candy's and spirals are shown in the first image below to show a better comparison.
What is the difference between a Single 30 count dread fall and a 60 count dread set?
At first this can be a confusing concept to get a handle on, so here is a quick breakdown.
Construction and quality wise, there is no difference between them.
Both contain 30 dreads mounted on a length of reinforced rick rack.
The Single 30 count fall is just that one single fall made up of 30 dreads. Designed for people who prefer to wear a single hairpiece as a ponytail.
The 60 count set contains a matching pair of falls both made up of 30 dreads each. Designed for people who prefer the look of pigtails or have concerns about coverage.
If you order a set (pair) of dread falls, they can both be worn together over your ponytail to create a huge layered ponyfall, many customers prefer to get a set as it allows for more style choices.
How long will my order take?
Turnaround/availability times are qouted on every product page and in your cart during checkout. Please remember these times are in addition to quoted shipping times as given in the shipping methods. For non-custom made items we usually have stock available and can send the order out between 3-7 working days. However, please note that a lot of our items are custom made after ordering and as such may take a much longer timeframe for us to be able to ship to you. As always, your patience is appreciated.
How do I wear my falls without my pigtails showing?
We include care and instructions with every order we ship! The best advice I can give you is practice, master the art of the flat bun and bobby pins are a life saver. The biggest trick is to use a few extra bobby pins per fall and slide them through a couple dreads into your bun. That way they don't sway as much, ensuring no gaps in coverage happen when running amuck for the night. It takes a few tries, but you will get the hang of it.
What do the goggle spikes look like and what does wires in frame mean?
Understanding what goggle option to choose is another one of those tricky custom issues.
Goggle options - The mystery revealed:
Claw spikes - Rounded & curved spikes that are approx. 1 inch in height. When choosing to add claw spikes to any goggle design, 6 spikes are added to the upper edge of the goggle frame, three per side.(Shown below)
Tree spikes - A very cool 6 sided spike that stands approx. 1.5 inches tall, typically, these are referred to as hex spikes. When choosing to add tree spikes to any goggle design, 4 spikes are added to the upper and side edge of the goggle frame, two per side.(Shown below)
Frame color - Choose the color of the goggles themselves.
Lens design - Choose the symbol or image you want on the goggle lens.
Cyber Hypnotix Goggles custom - There are 4 choices of lens designs, biohazard, radiation, none or I have a custom design. When choosing "I have a custom design", be sure to leave a note during checkout with a link to the design you would like. You can also email us and attach a copy of the design and reference your order number. (shown below)

Misc. themed goggles - There are a few additional lens designs that are options for certain themed goggles. Choices include medical cross, custom name, extra jack face, etc. (shown below)
Lens design color - Choose the color you want the symbol or image to be. For example, black biohazard, purple zim, green radiation, etc.
Lens background - Choose the pattern you would like the lens design to sit on top of. This will be visible from behind the symbol or image you choose. Your choice of dots, metal mesh, or a solid color.(Shown below)
Lens background color - Choose the color you want the background pattern to be. For example, metallic blue dots, true chrome metal mesh, solid purple, etc.
Goggle Addons - Choose if you would like cyber wires on your goggles. Wires are optional and are purely for aesthetic value.
Can I only order 3 colors for dreads?
You can have as many colors per dread order as you like. There is no extra charge to have more then 3 colors. If you would like to add colors or have a specific picture in mind on how you would like your dreads to look, just include the details in the comments when checking out.
Can you match my hair color?
Yes, color matching is a free service offered to all customers. We recommend, for the most accurate and professional match, that you mail us a small quantity of your real hair. You can snip a small piece off or even just take some leftover hair out of your brush. Matching can be done via picture image, but due to varying coloration in monitors, it isn't preferred.
How many double ended dreads do I need to order for a full head?
The amount of dreads needed is dependant on a number of factors. The amount of hair you have, the thickness of your natural hair, the thickness of the dread, and the volume you are looking to achieve. Sadly, this is often a question that dread makers can't answer without seeing your actual natural hair. There are so many factors involved that it's, more often then not, left to trial and error. Things like the standard thickness of a double ended dread varies by dread maker, so this chart is based off how we make our dreads.
You can use the chart below as a quick, very basic reference guide.
*Based off the average thickness of our double ended dreads
Again, this is all dependent on the above factors. Another good way to get an idea of how to order is to part your hair into small sections, then secure each section with a small rubber band. After you have sectioned off all the hair that you want to use, just count each section. Each rubber banded part counts as 1 double ended dread needed. This will also help give you the approx. amount you will need.
A good rule of thumb also, is to always order at least 5-10 extra double enders, just in case! It would be a inconvienent, to say the least, to get all of the double enders installed, and you still have some sections left.
